Merchandise sales are a significant revenue and profit driver for many of Stark’s clients in the sports and entertainment industry, but individually scanning merchandise barcodes at checkout is both time and labor intensive. Some patrons may skip buying anything at all if they see, or perceive long lines and long waits. So how can we move more patrons through the merchandise centers more quickly, more efficiently, with less contact and less labor requirements? And if we can read RF tags on merchandise, rather than barcodes, then can we improve our back-of-house inventory management as well?
The technology is currently installed at prominent venues in three of the top four US professional sports leagues and tournaments – processing thousands of patrons’ transactions daily, with zero RMAs so far.

Founder/CEO is a retired Navy SEAL that wants to help folks improve their “sleep hygiene” by creating a technology platform that controls light, temperature and sound to create the appropriate conditions for sleep, as well as keep circadian rhythm balanced.
The founder’s expertise is in improving sleep, especially for active duty and veteran soldiers, rather than hardware and software development. Brookgreen became the engineering extension of Exist Tribe for early product development, allowing the company to execute a controlled sleep study with functional prototype hardware.
The sleep study effectively validated the company’s working theories around improving sleep, allowing Exist Tribe to move to the next round of capital raise. In addition to developing the prototype product, Brookgreen established contract manufacturing relationships on behalf of Exist Tribe that will enable the company to quickly scale through the next phase of growth.
During the COVID pandemic, both companies were struggling with both costs and risk associated with having employees temperature screen other employees at the beginning and end of their shifts.
Brookgreen developed an IoT solution to automate and document the temperature screening process, allowing employees to stay safe while companies navigated the pandemic. COVID began shutting the country down in March, 2020 and Brookgreen helped deploy a solution 60 days later that is still utilized.
Health care professionals were scarce to be found during the pandemic, so both companies were relying on employees to screen other employees through a manual process that was not appealing to any party involved. By creating a cloud based data repository that included facial recognition, employee/visitor badge scan and algorithm to alert on temperatures X degrees over average rather than the same CDC 100.3 threshold for everyone (people’s core temps vary), both companies were able to continue adhering to best practices while keeping employees out of harm’s way.
